50 years of providing opportunities for students toexplore, learn and succeed

Kristofer Dudley

Electronics class of ‘15

From a dark past to a bright future, Kris discovered anything is possible when you make yourself and your education a priority.

Kris Dudley

For several years, Kris felt chained to a dark past. Having lost both parents when he was 11, he eventually dropped out of high school, fell in with the wrong crowd and lost his job just as he was starting a family. It was at this point Kris knew failure was no longer an option.

“We all have different backgrounds and unique stories to tell, but underneath those differences we are also similar. Each and every one of us has the power to change our future. The time for change is now and it begins with seeking higher education.”

While at Chemeketa, Kris grew more than he ever imagined possible, earning a 3.91 GPA, volunteering for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs and becoming a role model to other students.

“When I walk at graduation I will be walking with my head held high. I will be walking with a better chance to a brighter future. I am now in charge, and it is all thanks to Chemeketa and my own determination to not let my past define who I am today or who I will be in the future.”
