Instructional Methods
Learn about different class formats and learning experiences for students.
In-Person Classes
You attend class in a traditional classroom at one of Chemeketa’s campuses or centers. You will be expected to attend class meetings at a regular time on regular days of the week.
While you will attend classes on-site, you may be expected to log in to eLearn, Chemeketa’s online learning management system, to supplement your classroom instruction and/or complete assignments.
-
In-Person Learning Experience
- Learning in an in-person course includes instruction delivered by your instructor through real-time presentations and demonstrations.
- Your instructor may also use the class meeting time to conduct group activities as well as independent work.
- You will also learn by completing homework assignments such as reading course materials; viewing videos; solving problem sets; completing written, video or audio assignments; responding to discussion boards; or engaging in community-based experiences.
- For each hour of in-person class time, expect to complete 2 hours of homework each week. So, a 4-credit credit hour course will require 4 hours of class meeting time plus 8 hours of homework time each week for a total of 12 hours of work time each week.
