Meeting Schedule

Follow the board's work or attend the board meetings.

Public Comment Request Guidelines:  The request shall include the person’s name, the name of the organization or group represented, if any, and a statement noting the agenda item or topic to be addressed. Please specify if you are joining the meeting in person or via Zoom.
Speakers may offer criticisms of district operations and programs that are of concern to them but, in public session, are advised to refrain from personal complaints against school personnel or any person connected with the district. Supporting a collaborative culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion, the Chair is empowered to ensure orderly and civil discourse. 
 

Public Comment is offered in remote and Face-to-Face formats

  • Remotely - individuals must either submit written testimony or request to speak which should be received by 5pm the night before 1) via email to julie.deuchars@chemeketa.edu or 2) via postal mail to the President's Office, Attention: Julie Deuchars, 4000 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem, OR 97305.
  • Face-to-Face - individuals must either submit written testimony or request to speak which should be received by 5pm the night before 1) via email to julie.deuchars@chemeketa.edu or 2) via postal mail to the President's Office, Attention: Julie Deuchars, 4000 Lancaster Dr. NE, Salem, OR 97305. or 3) on the day of the board meeting, "sign up" in person before the board meeting starts. The Boardroom doors will be open 15 minutes before the meeting begins. There will be a "sign up" form on the table which will be removed when the board meeting is called to order. 
  • Testimony is allowed for a maximum of 3 minutes, and then the speaker will be asked to stop providing testimony.  A clock will be provided to assist the speaker in managing their time. Thirty (30) minutes shall be the maximum time allotment for public speakers on any one subject regardless of the number of speakers at any one Board of Education meeting.
