Earn a Full Tuition Scholarship With Chemeketa Scholars

Chemeketa Scholars covers up to two years of tuition in any field of study, including career technical programs. Information for the 2021 application year will be published soon.

What's New with Chemeketa Scholars

  • Applications will be accepted at the Salem campus March 9-13, 2020 and the Yamhill Valley campus on March 6, 2020 (more information for Yamhill Valley applicants available at the bottom of this page)
  • The Yamhill Valley information session is January 28, 2020
  • The Salem information session is January 29, 2020
  • Scholars applicants should also apply for the Oregon Promise
  • Smarter Balanced scores may be used in place of Chemeketa's placement assessment

Chemeketa Scholars Eligibility Requirements

High School Students

  • Attend a high school within Chemeketa’s district or reside in Chemeketa’s district
  • Have an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. This GPA is through the first semester/quarter of the last year of high school
  • Be placed into Reading 115, Writing 115 and Math 095 or higher*
  • Be on track to earn a high school diploma
  • Enroll full-time (12-18 credits) at Chemeketa in the first fall term after graduation

Homeschool Students

  • Reside in Chemeketa’s district
  • Be registered with the Willamette Education Services District (WESD) as a homeschool student. Documentation is required
  • Be placed into Reading 115, Writing 115 and Math 095 or higher*
  • Earn ACT composite score of 27 or SAT combined score of 1270 in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing Plus Math tests
  • Enroll full time (12-18 credits) at Chemeketa in the first fall term after finishing high school requirements


  • Meet all requirements for either high school or homeschool students
  • Joined the military within three months of graduating high school or finishing high school requirements
  • Enroll full time (12-18 credits) at Chemeketa within six months of discharge

*SAT/ACT scores cannot be used in lieu of placement assessment results.

  • Yamhill Valley Applicants

    Yamhill Valley Area Applicants

    • A special application day for Yamhill Valley area students will be Friday, March 6, 2020 from 8 am-5 pm

    • A Chemeketa Scholars Information Session for area applicants will be held –

      January 28 , 2020, 6 pm

    • The complete application packet must be delivered in person to –
