Chemeketa Polk Center Student Services

Chemeketa Polk Center provides a number of services to help you succeed.

  • Getting Started Workshops at Chemeketa Polk

    If you're not sure about getting started at Chemeketa, have questions about how financial aid works or want tips on how to succeed in college, consider attending one of our free Getting Started workshops.

    All workshops last one hour. Please call 503.623.5567 to reserve your spot.

    • Mon., Mar. 18, 10:00-11:00am 
     
  • New Student Advising

    All new students to Chemeketa are required to attend a New Student Advising session before you can register for classes. The session helps you plan and register for classes, understand your placement test scores, access student services and learn more about attending Chemeketa. Call the Polk Center to schedule an appointment.

  • Academic Advising, Counseling & Accessibility Services

    Academic Advising

    General advising is available by appointment-

    • Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 9 am-4 pm
    • Wednesday 9 am-7 pm
    • Friday 9 am-12 pm

    Please register for an advising appointment through your MyChemeketa or call 503.623.5567.

    Counseling

    Both general support and career counseling are available Mondays from 9 am-4 pm. Appointments can be made by calling 503.623.5567.

    Accessibility Services

    A Student Accessibility Services Specialist is generally available Fridays from 8 am-12 pm by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 503.623.5567.

  • Proctored and Placement Testing

    Proctored and placement testing is available at Chemeketa Polk by appointment only.

    Generally testing is held on Fridays from 9am-12pm, but may vary based on other testing being done.

  • Tutoring Services

    During Winter term finals week, tutoring in math and writing will be available at the Polk Center only on MONDAY, MARCH 18TH during the times shown below:

    Math and Writing:  9:30 am-6 pm

    Online tutoring is available to full and part-time students enrolled in credit classes. Visit Tutoring & Study Skills to learn more.

  • Computer Lab

    Computers and printers are available for currently registered Chemeketa students conducting college-related work. 

    Drop-in times for open computer lab for Winter term are-

    • Monday & Wednesday, 11:30 am-12:20 pm, Room 104
    • Tuesday, 3:30-5:20 pm, Room 102 

    Four computers are available in the lobby during regular center hours for student use.

    Chemeketa Polk also has Wi-Fi available for students. Log into your MyChemeketa for instructions on how to connect to the Chemeketa wireless network.

  • Textbook Pick-up at the Polk Center

    You may purchase books and compare prices for other online sites through the Chemeketa Bookstore website. You can have purchased book/items sent to the Polk Center for easy pick-up for free, or shipped to your home for a small fee.

    Chemeketa's Textbook Lending Library allows you to check out textbooks for an entire term at no cost. Textbooks are available on a first-come-first-served basis and priority is given to students with a 2.0 GPA or higher for their last term completed. You can find additional information on Chemeketa's Student Services website.

    The Polk Center also provides an hourly check-out service on a first-come-first serve basis for selected textbooks. 

  • Student ID cards

    Chemeketa student ID cards are available at the Polk Center - 

    WINTER TERM: January 21 - January 31 / Mon.-Thurs. 8am to 7pm

    To get a Chemeketa ID card, you need to be a current Chemeketa student, have a current student ID number, and have no holds on your Chemeketa account. There is no charge for your first card, but replacement cards cost $5 each. Student ID cards are needed to utilize the library, tutoring services, computer labs, printing & copy machines, and bookstore. They can also be used for discounts at local area businesses. 

  • Parking

    Parking Permits are not required at Chemeketa Polk. Permits are required at other Chemeketa locations.
