Getting Started Workshops
Face-to-face workshops have been temporarily suspsended at the PolkCenter. New Student Advising
All new students to Chemeketa are required to meet with an advisor before being allowed to register for classes. This session helps you plan and register for classes, understand your placement test scores, access student services and learn more about attending Chemeketa.
To make a phone appointment with our advisor you can call 503.623.5567 or email the Polk Center at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once you've applied to Chemeketa you can also use the link https://advisingpolk.youcanbook.me/ to make a phone or Zoom appointment with our advisor.
Academic Advising, Counseling & Accessibility Services
Face-to-face services have been temporarily suspended at the Polk Center. Students can use https://advisingpolk.youcanbook.me/ or you can email email@example.com or call 503.623.5567 to make a phone or Zoom appointment with our advisor.
Personal, Career or Crisis Counseling
Personal counseling services are free to currently enrolled students. All counseling appointments are confidential. You can make an appointment through your my.chemeketa account or see Counseling Services for more information. To make a phone appointment using your my.chemeketa account, login to your account:
- Click on the "Services" tab (left side)
- Then click on "Advising" (left side)
- Finally, click "Counseling Services" under the campus location of your choice on the right side of the page.

Placement and Proctored Testing
Placement testing is not currently available at Chemeketa Polk. Please refer to Placement Assessment on Chemeketa's main web site.
Be sure to check out this advice on preparing for your placement tests.
Students requesting special accommodations for placement testing should contact Accessibility Services at the Salem campus (503.399.5192).
Proctored Student Testing - PROCTORED TESTING IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
Chemeketa Students - TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED - Proctored testing for Chemeketa students at Polk Center is only available on Fridays during the school year by appointment only as space is limited. For additional information see Polk Center Student Testing Services Information sheet.
Chemeketa Instructors - TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED - Instructors are asked to download the Polk Center Instructor Directions for all requested Chemeketa test proctoring and fill in all information regarding test instructions and exam return instructions.
Outside Institution Proctoring Requests - TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED - Students from outside institutions may call to schedule test proctoring. Testing at the Polk Center is only held on Fridays from 8am or 9am to 12pm and space is limited. Dates and times vary depending on holiday schedule and other testing being done. Instructors from outside institutions are asked to download Polk Center Test Proctoring Information for Outside Institutions and follow protocol.
Special Accommodations - TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED - Students with approved testing accommodations from Accessibility Services are required to contact the Polk Center at 503.623.5567 before testing can be scheduled. For further information see Polk Center Accommodated Testing Info.

All face-to-face tutoring services at the Polk Center have been temporarily suspended. Online/remote e-tutoring is available to full and part-time students enrolled in credit classes. Visit Tutoring & Study Skills to learn more.

Student ID cards
Chemeketa student ID cards are currently not available at the Polk Center. Contact the BOOKSTORE for more information on student ID cards.
To get a Chemeketa ID card, you need to be a current Chemeketa student, have a current student ID number, and have no holds on your Chemeketa account. There is no charge for your first card, but replacement cards cost $5 each. Student ID cards are needed to utilize in-person services in the library, tutoring services, computer labs, printing & copy machines, and bookstore.
Parking Permits are not required at Chemeketa Polk. Permits are required at other Chemeketa locations.
