Chemeketa Polk Center Student Services

Chemeketa Polk Center provides a number of services to help you succeed.

  • New Student Advising

    All new students to Chemeketa are required to meet with an advisor before being allowed to register for classes. These sessions help students plan and register for classes, understand placement test scores, access student services and learn more about attending Chemeketa.

    Once you've applied to Chemeketa for student admission, you can contact the Polk Center at 503.623.5567 or at polkcenter@chemeketa.edu to make an appointment with our advisor, Jorge Anaya, or make an appointment directly through your student Navigate app by choosing the Polk Center. Please have your student ID/K# and student Chemeketa email account available when making an appointment. 

  • Academic Advising, Counseling & Accessibility Services

    Academic Advising

    Face-to-face and remote advising services are available at the Polk Center. Students can make an appointment through their Navigate app or call 503.623.5567 to make an in-person, phone, or Zoom appointment with our advisor, Jorge Anaya.

    Counseling Services 

    Personal, Crisis, or Career Counseling Services are available remote or face to face at through the Salem campus and are free to currently enrolled students. All counseling appointments are confidential. You can make an appointment through your student Navigate app. To make an in-person, phone, or Zoom appointment, call 503.399.5129.

    Accessibility Services

    Face-to-face and remote accessibility services are available at the Polk Center. You can fill out an accessibility services request form here, and an accessibility services specialist will contact you.

  • Polk Center Testing Services

    Instructor Proctor Exams

    • Proctored exams are by appointment only on Fridays during weeks 5, 6, 10, and 11. Exam hours are 8:30 am to 12:45 pm. All testers will need to complete by 12:45 pm.
    • Students must contact their instructor first; once authorized, they should call the Polk Center to schedule their appointment.
    • The instructor will submit a Testing Instructor Submission Form to the Polk Center, along with any necessary instructions for printing or administration.

    Students are not permitted to bring purses, backpacks, cell phones, food, drinks, or other personal items into the testing room. Students must present a state-issued ID or their Chemeketa digital ID at the appointment. 

  • Polk Tutoring Services

    Tutoring and Workshops

    The Polk Center offers face-to-face and remote tutoring options. Please use navigate and select the Polk Center for your appointment location to book your appointment.

  • Textbook Information

    Chemeketa Lending Library

    Textbooks may be available for use at no cost through the Chemeketa Lending Library.

     

    Textbooks, Calculators, and Other Class Supplies

  • Study Space

    The Chemeketa Polk Center offers a study space and options for an open computer lab. Please check at the front desk for availability. 

  • Calculators & Laptops

    The Chemeketa Polk Center has a limited amount of calculators & laptops available for student check out. Please bring a photo ID and have your Knumber ready.

  • Student ID cards

    Chemeketa uses digital ID cards. Once you become a student, you can go to studentid.chemeketa.edu and log in to upload your photo.

  • Parking

    Parking Permits are not required at Chemeketa Polk Center. Please be sure to park in the two designated rows, or street parking is also available.

  • Polk Center Student Food Pantry

    Polk Center Student Food Pantry is available to current students 10 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday. 

     

    The Polk Center Student Food Pantry is supported by the Chemeketa Foundation and the Polk Center Staff. If you would like to make a monetary donation to our pantry, you can visit this website, choose or enter the amount, and select Polk Center Student Relief Fund.

     

    We also accept unexpired non-perishable food items during our normal business hours.
