TANF JOBS Program
Chemeketa's Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Job Opportunity & Basic Skills (JOBS) program provides career-building services to eligible TANF recipients.
We offer two program options:

Career Exploration Program
The Career Exploration Program provides career-building services focused on job search, career development, and job training such as GED. For more information on training options, contact us. Youth ages 16-24 who are receiving TANF benefits are eligible to participate in the Career Exploration Program. The services include:
- Guidance with Oregon Career Information Systems (CIS) and similar career exploration tools to find a career in Oregon that matches your natural skills and interests
- Assistance with Oregon’s Labor Market Information System to learn about local jobs, wages, job fairs, and employment openings
- Support with building meaningful goals and creating your career plan
- Information on associate degrees, one-year Certificate Trainings, Pre-Apprentice & apprenticeship programs and other career pathways offered at Chemeketa
- Advice on all things job search such as resumes, applications, interviewing, online search, and more
- Developing informational interviews, job shadow, and work experience opportunities

Hispanic Professional Development Program
The Hispanic Professional Development Program is focused on serving individuals who identify as Hispanic or Latino and receive TANF benefits in Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties. We offer opportunities to:
- Earn your GED in Spanish or English
- Learn English through ESOL classes
- Earn college credentials
- Vocational training focused on the courses you need to start the career of your dreams
