GED Preparation Options

Earn your GED (General Equivalency Diploma) and free college credits, through Chemeketa.

Why a GED From Chemeketa?

When you enroll in our GED/High School Options program you will attend classes regularly and have multiple scheduling options. Chemeketa's GED programs include the possibility to earn your high school diploma with individualized pacing in a college environment that will result in better job opportunities when you enter the workforce. You will work closely with faculty and staff to build your skills in preparation for the GED exams and future possibilities.

Upon completion of your GED through Chemeketa, you will also earn free college credits you can use to further your education.

GED preparation in English and Spanish are also offered at our Yamhill Valley Campus.

  • GED AGES 16-21

    In Chemeketa's youth GED program, you get to choose your schedule. Classes are offered –

    • Monday-Thursday, 9:20 am-2 pm
    • Monday-Thursday, 2:30-4:30 pm

    To get started, visit the High School Partnerships office at Salem Campus, Bldg. 50, Rm. 102, and pick up an application for sponsorship. After returning the completed application with an updated high school transcript, you'll attend a pre-testing session and orientation to prepare you for starting classes.

    Youth GED classes are offered at no cost for tuition, books or testing.

  • GED PREP AGES 18+

    To get started, visit our office in Salem Bldg. 22, Rm. 100 or call 503.399.5224 for assistance.

    The adult GED Program offers you –

    • Morning and evening classes
    • Classes cover all four GED tests
    • Use of our computer lab
    • One-on-one tutoring
    • 24/7 access to online learning tools
    • Free official practice tests

    GED classes are $70 per term and placement testing is $15 (due at time of testing). Financial assistance is available to those who receive SNAP but not TANF. Please call Angelica Macias at 503.399.6509 for eligibility requirements and further assistance.
